Description

Rose Quartz – freeform

Rose quartz is the pink variety of quartz, coloured by traces of titanium and iron. Mohs hardness 7; it forms massive rather than distinct crystals, so the material is milky to translucent. Main sources are Brazil and Madagascar.

Freeforms are cut without a template, so no two pieces match – good for one-offs, but stringing takes a little patience.

Care: clean with lukewarm water and a soft cloth, then wipe dry. An ultrasonic bath is not necessary for natural stone.
