Description

Pietersite – freeform

Pietersite is a breccia of hawk's eye and tiger's eye with a moving silky sheen, formed where quartz-bearing rock is penetrated by amphibole fibres. Mohs hardness 6.5 to 7.

Freeforms are cut without a template, so no two pieces match – good for one-offs, but stringing takes a little patience.

Care: clean with lukewarm water and a soft cloth, then wipe dry. An ultrasonic bath is not necessary for natural stone.
