Description

Ruby – loose beads, 6 mm

Ruby is the red variety of corundum and reaches Mohs hardness 9, second only to diamond; the colour comes from chromium. The pieces offered here are ornamental grade: opaque to slightly translucent, with visible inclusions.

Loose beads are sold individually rather than on a strand; the piece count is stated in the listing.

Care: wipe dry or with a damp cloth only – do not soak, and avoid acidic or alcoholic cleaners.
