Description

Iolite – beads, 10–12 mm

Cordierite, also sold as iolite, is a magnesium aluminium silicate with Mohs hardness 7 to 7.5. It is strongly pleochroic: blue, violet or grey-yellow depending on the angle.

Beads are drilled for stringing; the number of pieces per strand is stated in the listing.

Care: clean with lukewarm water and a soft cloth, then wipe dry. An ultrasonic bath is not necessary for natural stone.
